Jerry Lee Scott Jr. Pontotoc- Jerry Lee Scott, Jr.,24, died Friday, November 3, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident this past Saturday. He was born December 18, 1991, to Jerry Lee Scott Sr. and Joy Lynn Montgomery Hancock. After graduating from North Pontotoc High School in 2010, Jerry Lee attended Itawamba Community College and Northwest Community College before becoming a long haul truck driver. As a young man of faith he had nearly fifteen years of perfect attendance at Wallerville Baptist Church in New Albany and was a member of Hayseed Cowboy Church. Jerry loved spending time outdoors grading his driveway and riding his tractor. Jerry loved horses and always spent as much time training them and being around them as much as possible. He also enjoyed his involvement with pony-pulling. He enjoyed spending time with his loving dog, Callie who was with him in his accident. He exemplified a servants hear and was looked up to especially his younger cousins. He is survived by his grandparents, Kent and Margaret Montgomery of Pontotoc, Sybil Harkness of Cotton Plant; his great grandmother, Mary Dill; Three aunts, Donna Manning (Steve) of Blue Springs, Pamela Young of North Reddington Beach, Florida, Marissa Mitchell (David) of Richmond, Virginia; 9 cousins, Michael Manning, Jennifer Manning, Sarah Manning, Ely Young, Ella Young, Ean Young, Ethan Young, Gabby Mitchell and Joseph Mitchell. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016, at Hayseed Cowboy Church in Thaxton. Visitation will be one hour prior at the Church.
