JERRY PUTT Mooreville - Jerry Wayne Putt, 62, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at The Community Hospice in Verona, MS after a brief illness. He was born in Tupelo, MS., May 30, 1952, to Jimmy Joe and Ellen Estes Putt. He was a 1972 Mooreville High School graduate. Jerry enjoyed fishing, his dogs, and was an avid sports fan. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Burial will be in Boguefala Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Linda Putt of Mooreville; two step-sons, Tony Grubbs (Lori) and Keith Grubbs (Renee) both of Hernando; five grandchildren; his mother, Ellen Stroup and his step-father, Robert Stroup of Mooreville; his mother-in-law, Ruby Lynchard of New Albany; two sister. Lynn Hall (Bobby) of Tupelo and Diane Kirkman (Jonathan) of Greensboro, NC.; two step-brothers, David and Doug Stroup, both of Bargetown, KY.; two step sisters, Darlene Hanson (Mike) and Dolly Smith (Chuck) of Bargetown, KY. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Joe Putt and his first wife, Judy Putt; his grandparents, Mannie and Selma Estes and Oscar and Virgie Putt and one step-brother, Donnie Stroup. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks, 107 Skeet Drive, Verona, MS 38879.
