JERRY NOLAN

TupeloJerry Edward Nolan, 62, died Monday, February 5, 2007, at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. A native and life long resident of Tupelo, he was born June 20, 1944 to Lois Holder Nolan and the late Emmett Washington Nolan. He was a graduate of Tupelo High School and attended Itawamba Community College. He was a member of Priceville Baptist church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He had owned and operated East Heights Finance from 1972 until 1985. He later became a builder and land developer. He worked ten years creating the beautiful subdivision which is now known as Dear Park Estates.

In 2000 he rejoined his sons in the car business where he was employed until the present. A dear husband, father, and grandfather, he loved helping others and spending times with his children and grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Scott Witcher and Rev. Tim Tutor officiating. Burial will be in White Zion Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Witcher Nolan; one daughter, Tara Nichole Priest (Shelton); two sons, Brad Nolan (Gena) and Dennis Nolan (Andi), all of Tupelo; one sister, Rachel Nolan of Tupelo; five grandsons, Bentley, Seth, Auston, Ethan, and Jon Eli Nolan; his mother, Lois Nolan of Tupelo; his mother-in-law, Jackie Witcher of Tupelo; two brothers-in-law, Scott Witcher (Terri) of Plantersville, and Don Witcher (Ann) of New Albany; one nephew, Kevin Nolan of Fulton, and one niece, Deanna Harrington of Tupelo.

He is preceded in death by his father and one brother, Benny Nolan.

Pallbearers will be J.W. Buse, Homa Bailey, Jimmy Killough, Tommy Scruggs, Greg Carroll, and Rick Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the employees of Nolan Brothers.

Memorials may be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House, PO Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803; or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
