Tupelo - Jerrie Ann Stanford, 72, died Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center, after an extended illness. A Pontotoc native, she was born July 18, 1938 to John W. and Carnell Murphy Staten. A graduate of Randolph High School, she then went on to attend Cosmetology School. She loved to go to antique shops where she collected many different types of glass wear, decorative dress pins, and other antique objects. She loved and adored her granddaughters. Some of the hobbies she enjoyed was gardening and canning. She was a strong and courageous woman, who had battled Juvenile Diabetes. She was a member of Bissell Baptist Church.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Roger Smith and Dr. Adrian Horne officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Edwin (Hank) Stanford; her daughter, Julie Howell (Ronnie) of Tupelo; one sister, Bobbye Bland (Quay) of Pontotoc; two granddaughters, Haley Pate (Warren) of Franklin, TN, and Megan Howell of Tupelo .
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Mancill, Jim Donald, Ricky Edwards, Buddy Irving, Travis Morgan, and David Thomason.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the funeral home.
