Jennifer Leigh Hand Hood

Franklin, North Carolina - Jennifer Leigh Hand Hood, 42, Formerly of Mooreville, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at her residence after a sudden illness. A Lee County native, she was born May 30, 1967 to Perry and Linda Hand. She was a 1985 graduate of Mooreville High School, graduated from Itawamba Community College and later went on to Mississippi State University where she graduated with a degree in Public Relations. She worked over 15 years with her father at Curtis Mathis in Tupelo. She had worked as a registration and recruiting coordinator in the School of Forestry at Mississippi State University and was currently the Conference coordinator at Western North Carolina University in Cullowhee. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and niece and nephews and careing for her dogs, Chewy, Rocky and Cass.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Ministers Troy McNutt and Gary Williams officiating. Burial will be in Gilvo Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of eight years, Randy Hood, of Franklin, NC; her children, Magen, and Kevin Hood of Lufkin, Texas, and Alexis Hood of Columbus, South Carolina; her parents, Perry and Linda Hand of Mooreville; two sisters, Amy Voyles (Rodney) of Baldwyn, and Heather Dubois (Lee) of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Hunter, Aiden, and Jace Hood; one niece, Katy Beth Voyles; three nephews, Ben Dubois, Jackson Voyles, and Eason Dubois.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Lindley, Dale Dulaney, Allen Whitmon, Todd Nichols, Brad Nichols, and Kent Nichols.
