Saltillo - Jenell Nell Pardin, 82, died Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Homeplace Assisted Living in Saltillo after an extended illness. She was born September 3, 1928 in Saltillo to Albert R. and Ella Becky Burks King. She retired after nearly fifty years as owner and operator of Jenells Beauty Shop. She had a gift for gardening and landscaping her yard. She had affection for all animals and loved caring for them, especially those with no home. She fostered two baby squirrels she raised on bottles. She loved her family time and spent many a days cooking desserts for them. She also found time to be with her special friends. She was a member of Euclatubba Baptist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Russell Pardin (Norma) of Saltillo; one grandson, Nathan Pardin (fiancee, Kristi Vickers) of Marion, Arkansas; one grandaughter, Hannah Rhinewalt (Matt) of Ridgeland; one great grandson, Ian Matthew Rhinewalt; special friends, Frances Barnes, Nellie Duffie, Opal Reynolds, Elizabeth Towery; her personal sitter, Janice Tyes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jap Pardin; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Dot King.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
