Tupelo - Jeffery L. "Jeff" Ramey, 62, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born April 27, 1956, at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada to Terrell and Evelyn Ramey. He was raised in the Auburn Community and was a 1974 graduate of Mooreville High School. On November 24, 1977 he married Carolyn Bryant and they shared over 40 years together. He was at SAFH Alarm for 20 years as a technician/installer. Soon after SAFH merged with Capital Security, he became the manager. In 1996, he went to work for Cook Coggin Engineers, Inc. as a state aid administrator and recently retired after 23 years. He enjoyed work as well as leisure time. Jeff loved spending time with family and friends, working in his yard, and spoiling his only grandchild Aubree. He was a member of Beech Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Bryant Ramey; one son Christopher Ramey and his wife Erin Lollar Ramey of Saltillo; one granddaughter Aubree Ramey; one brother Terry Ramey and his wife Leona of the Auburn Community; two sister-in-laws Alison Towery and her husband Joe of Tupelo, and Ellen Lee of West Point; one nephew Caleb Ramey and his wife Alaina of Red Bay, Alabama; and three nieces, Olivia Ramey Mann and her husband Jeffrey of the Auburn Community, and Elizabeth and Aly Towery of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday August 2, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday August 3, 2018, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Dennis Kizzire and Rev. Bob O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in Beech Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Parker, Philip Taylor, Jackie Cruse, Roland Humphrey, Doug Lytal, and Lonnie Murphy.
Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Cook Coggin Engineers, Inc.
Memorials may be made to Beech Springs Freewill Baptist Church 146 Free Will Lane, Saltillo, MS 38866, or to his favorite charity, Sanctuary Hospice House PO Box 2177 Tupelo, MS 38803.
