Jeanis Sue "Jan" Goodman

JEANIS GOODMAN Okolona - Jeanis (Jan) Sue Goodman, 65, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. Jan was born April 8, 1947, in Sunflower County, Mississippi. She was retired from South Central Bell Telephone Co., working at several locations including Indianola, Greenwood and Jackson, Mississippi. Jan was a very hard worker who loved working in her flowers garden. For six years, she was a caregiver to her mother. She was a member of Okolona First Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday on October 14, 2012, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Eric Boykin officiating. Survivors include her husband of forty-five years, Jimmy Goodman of Okolona; her son, Paul Goodman (Marie) of Sasebo, Japan; three grandchildren; Akira, twelve, Ashley, ten and Aneas, four; three sisters, Carol Sanders (Jimmy) of Marks, Stella Moore (James) of Tupelo, Fran Wiltshire (Donnie) of Carollton; one brother, Doug Mitchell of Greenwood; four special sisters-in-law, Linda, Sandra, Dolores and Rhonda; numerous nieces and nephews who loved Aunt Jan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Lois Mitchell; her daughter, Wendy Carol Goodman; and her brother, William "Bo" Mitchell. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
