Jean Vinson Lessel
Belden - Bonnie Jean Lessel, 87, passed away June 7, 2018, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born February 23, 1931, to Walter Henry Vinson and Paralee Dillard Vinson. She graduated from Belden High School. On March 23, 1953, she married Mitchell Lessel. Jean was a long time member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her two daughters, Debbie Tindall and her husband Tom of Belden, and Susan Wood and her husband Terry of Belden; four grandchildren, Jessica Eaton and her husband Tommy of Saltillo, Leslie Iverson and her husband Chad of Macadonia Community, Leah Thrasher and her husband Andy of Guntown, and Justin Wood and his wife Amanda of Belden; 9 great-grandchildren, Harrison Eaton, Hayden Eaton, Holder Eaton, Jett Thrasher, Charlzie Thrasher, Tripp Iverson, Cora Iverson, Addis Wood, and Mae Morgan Wood; one sister Lucy Welch of Sherman; one brother William "Bill" Vinson of Jackson, Tennessee; one sister-in-law Pauline Grissom Sartain and her husband Carles of Fulton; and numerous neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; five brothers, Raymond Vinson and his wife Mamie, A. D. Vinson and his wife Mae, Woodrow Vinson and his wife Kernith, Richard Vinson and his wife Mildred, and infant brother Leon Vinson; four sisters, Bessie Grant and her husband Fletcher, Hazel Roberts and her husband John, Ruby Tollison and her husband William, and infant sister Ernestine Vinson.
Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, at Jefferson Street Chapel with Dr. Tommy Vinson and Dr. Jerry Welch officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Belden.
Pallbearers will be Chad Iverson, Andy Thrasher, Justin Wood, Ronnie Irwin, Bob Grant, and Harry Vinson.
Mrs. Jean's daughters would like to thank the staffs of Rosewood Residence and the Sanctuary Hospice House for their tender love and care. You all were truly a blessing.
