JEAN CHRISTIAN Tupelo - Jean Christian, 85, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at her home in Tupelo. She was born January 22, 1928, in Tupelo to Berle and Manell Horton Summers. She was a graduate of Milam High School in Tupelo. She retired from First National Bank after working thirty-five years in accounting and also retired from McRae's Dept. Store in customer service after twenty-five years of service. She was a homemaker and beloved mother of three. She was a member of Auburn Baptist Church. Stateroom services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo with Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Chris Murphy of Tupelo; three granddaughters, Michelle Rosen (Ralph) of Olive Branch, Melissa Murphy (fiancé, Chris Sanders) of Tupelo and Crystal Threadgill (Kalem) of Birmingham, Alabama; seven great-grandchildren, Justin, Meredith, Brent and Jonathan Rosen, Jacquelyn Gillean, Gabe Sanders and Ben Threadgill. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, John Elzy Christian and her twin sons, Barry and Barney Christian. Visitation will be 1 - 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the funeral home.
