Saltillo - Janis Ling Smith Patrick, 51, died Saturday, September 22, 2012, at her residence. She was born May 10, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Shirley Borden. She enjoyed working in her garden and around her home. She loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as her two dogs, Rambo and Roxie. She was also a member of The Orchard Methodist Church of Tupelo.



Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Jefferson Street Chapel with visitation one hour prior to services. Minister Eric Smith will be officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements.



Survivors include her husband of twenty years, Dale Patrick of Saltillo; her maternal parents, Charles and Shirley Borden of Glen; four sons, Jason Ling (Brandie) of Tupelo, Joseph Smith of Tupelo, Dustin Smith (Stephanie) of Portland, Oregon and Minister Eric Smith (Krystal) of Jackson; six sisters, Pamela Shellnut (Mike) of Hazle Park, Michigan, Deborah Speight (Dennis) of Clearwater, Florida, Denise Coon of Clearwater, Florida, Marcie Reed of Detroit, Michigan, Patsy Johnson (Vincent) of Alexandria, Louisiana and Theresa Zeien (Mike) of South Carolina; one brother, Pete Borden of Detroit, Michigan; four grandchildren, J.C. Ling, Bailey Ling, Jackson Smith and Nolen Smith; several nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by Bob and Lena Morrow, who were very instrumental in her life; one brother, Joey Coon.



Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Kidd, Mathew Scott, Jimmy Snapp and Mike Cruse.



Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the funeral home.
