JANICE SWAIN

Tupelo - JANICE M. SWAIN, 66, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Tupelo, she was born November 16, 1940 to the late Charles and Erin Morgan Martin. A 1958 graduate of Tupelo High School, she then went on to Bowling Green College of Commerce where she graduated in 1959. She was a legal secretary for the law firm Mitchell, Voge, Corban, and Hendrix for 31 years. She served as organist for First Baptist Church of Tupelo for 25 years and later at Parkway Baptist Church for 9 years until she retired in 2005. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Paul Brashier officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years Willis J. Swain of Tupelo; two sons, David Swain and wife, Teresa, of Baldwyn, and Brad Swain and wife, Angie, of Saltillo; one sister, Sandra Jetton of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Ashlyn Swain, Zach Swain, Searcy Swain, and Anna Robinson; one niece, Stacy Smith; and one nephew, Paul Sudduth..

Pallbearers will be the staff of W.E. Pegues.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
