Janice Jones
Tupelo - Janice Jones, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, July 8, 2016, at her home. She was born August 8, 1942, to Asa and Pauline Brewer in Hazard, Kentucky. At a young age, Janice's family moved to Vandalia, Ohio. Janice took great pride in being a homemaker and mother of six children. She was also a Charter member of what is now Faith Christian Fellowship in Beavercreek, Ohio. On June 10. 1993, Janice married Alfred Jones, they later moved to Tupelo in 2010. She enjoyed politics, crossword puzzles and reading; but she loved spending time at home with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Alfred Jones of Tupelo; five children, Shelia Rich of Tupelo; Theresa Hackett (Jeff) of The Woodlands, Texas; Rhonda Rice (Jeff) of Houston, Texas; Candi Galloway of Tupelo; Kenneth Greene, II (Chemika) of Tupelo; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Asa Brewer, Jr. (Sue) of Somerset, Kentucky and Lonnie Brewer (Pam) of Tampa, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Pauline Brewer; one daughter, Kimberly Lynn Greene and two sisters, Linda Hoover and Wanda Brewer.
Visitation will be held 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2016 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with her grandson, Landon Galloway and Pastor Rande Greene officiating. Graveside services to follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Rice, Jeff Hackett, Aaron Rice, T. J. Springer, Ashton Springer and Kenneth Joseph Greene.
