Clarksdale - James Milford Williams, 73, died Friday, May 7, 2010, at Clarksdale Hospital after an extended illness. A Tupelo native, he was born March 9, 1937 to Charles L. and Beda Griffin Williams. He lived in Clarksdale all of his adult life. A devout Baptist, he loved reading his Bible and his gospel music.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at Beech Springs Cemetery with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will be in Beech Springs Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one brother; Charles E. Williams of Marietta; two nieces, Wanda Hill, Karen Glover; four nephews, Rudy Hill and Rodney Hill, Phillip Butler and Clark Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sybil Hill and Juanita Butler.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time Monday, May 10, 2010 at the funeral home.
