James Turner

JAMES H. TURNER

Tupelo - James Harold Turner, 75, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. A Lee county native, he was born February 18, 1938 to Bonnie Wesley and Christine Simpson Turner. He attended Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed going fishing, gospel singing, especially the Inspriations, going to Hardins Grocery and Mooreville Short Stop. He loved driving around in his 76 Ford Torino.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Wayne Thorn and Rev. Bobby Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery.

Survivors include one brother, Bonnie Charles Turner (Ouida Mae) of the Eggville Community; one sister, Patrica Ann Roberts (Bobby) of the Pratts Community; one sister-in-law, Margaret Turner of the Eggville community; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John Earl, Tommy Gerald and Joe Elbert Turner; and one great-nephew Gerald Turner.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Stanford, Wesley Turner, Casey Turner, Lynn Turner, Shaun Byas, Ron Hickerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Turner, Jerry Turner, Kevin Turner, Ben Hardin.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 Friday, November 22, 2013 at the funeral home.
