Mooreville - James Thomas Reed, 59, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Tennessee, he was born July 17, 1948 to Lillie Belle Allbritton Reed and the late I. M. Reed. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver after his discharge from the Army.
Graveside services will be 12 p.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery south of Plantersville with Pastor Jay Jones officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Lillie Belle Reed of Auburn; one daughter, Paige Blankenship and husband, Dewayne, of Columbus; four sons, James Reed-Wood and wife, Gina, Randall Reed-Wood, David Reed-Wood, all of Columbus, and Michael Stone of Ohio; four brothers, Roger Reed and wife, Sheila, of Auburn, Jimmy Reed of St. Louis, Mo., Mike Reed, and wife, Debra, of Auburn, Jeff Reed, of Auburn; nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, I M Reed and his brother, Steve Randy Reed.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
