James Ernest Quimby

Hernando- James Ernest Quimby, age 67, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He was born in 1945 to the late Sam and Mary Elizabeth Quimby. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he graduated with a B.F.A. Recently retired, he was a life-long artist who loved his family, baking, gardening and classical music. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Tupelo Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Curtis officiating. W.E. Pegues is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Alice Reed Quimby, his son Robert Ernest Quimby and daughter-in-law Ashley Ferguson Quimby. Pallbearers will be Jim Chisholm, Vic Chisholm, Bob Chisholm, Lyman Chisholm, Rex Giles, Bobby Giles, Walt Dunn, Joseph Eckles, Frank Jue and David Webb. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the National Stroke Association.
