Jimmy E. Phillips
TUPELO - James Edward "Jimmy" Phillips, 58, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at his residence after an extended illness. A Mississippi native, he was born April 9, 1948 to the late J.C. and Wanda Gooch Phillips. He graduated high school in New Albany and graduated from David Lipscomb University. He was a member of Lee Acres Church of Christ. He was owner of Phillips Flying Service and an insurance agent.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Richard Gooch and Bro. Brad Carmen officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Forest Cemetery near Randolph.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Patricia Brown Phillips; one daughter, Amy Stanley (Butch) of Oxford; two sons, Collin Billingsley (Jane) and Kim Billingsley (Damita), all of Booneville; five grandchildren, Bailey and Luke Stanley of Oxford and Maury Billingsley, Hannah and Aaron Billingsley, all of Booneville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Phillips.
Pallbearers will be A.D. Payne, Glyn Hughes, Jeff Gooch, Doug Anderson, Walter Billingsley and Max Munn.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
