James Miller

Tupelo - James H. Miller, 75, died Thursday, August 19, 2010, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Saltillo native, he was born August 4, 1935, to James S. and Ruby Elizabeth Bradley Miller. He worked as a salesman for Wonder Bread for 40 years, retiring in 1998. He was recognized as a dedicated employee, passionate about the service he rendered to his customers. In high school he played basketball for Plantersville and was an avid sports enthusiast, especially Ole Miss Football. He was a faithful member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church. His family remembers him mostly for his unwavering faith and committment to his family.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper and Rev. Rusty Miller, his son, officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Hilda Wade Miller of Tupelo; his children, Bradley "Brad" Miller of Tupelo, Allison Bailey (Dewayne) of Tupelo, Linda Miller of Baton Rouge, La., Ann Bolton (David) of Prairieville, La., and James R. (Rusty) Miller (Cathy) of Tupelo; his sister, Kathryn Underwood of Cox's Creek, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Aaron Miller, Braden Miller, Andrea Miller, Alyssa Bailey, and Carley Bailey, all of Tupelo, Megan Hillensbeck of Prairieville, La., Emily Miller, Andrew Miller and Austin Miller, all of Locke Station.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Miller, Austin Miller, Andrew Miller, Greg Hillensbeck, David Bolton and Dewayne Bailey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be W.O. Smith, Jason Bass, Bill Goff, Lyle Gentry, David Taylor, Tommy Carpenter, Harry Speck, Danny Caygle, Carrol Coggin, Randy Witt, and Gene Freeman.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
