Saltillo - James Farley McDivitt, 69, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at his residence after an extended illness. A native of Calhoun County and longtime resident of Saltillo, he was the son of James Lamar and Noble Goodwin McDivitt. He enjoyed gardening and working on small engines and motors. A very loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he loved spending time with his family. He was a Mason and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Scott Witcher and Rev. Scott Cockrell officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, June Gable McDivitt of Saltillo; his children, Rosland Hopkins (Petey) of Guntown, Debra McHann (Billy) of Pontotoc, and Brian McDivitt of Saltillo; six grandchildren, Leigh-Anne Wages (fiannc Trey Hill), Justin Wages, and Brooke Wages, all of Guntown, Chassity McCord(Wesley) of Pontotoc, Austin McDivitt and Zachary McDivitt, both of Saltillo; two great-grandchildren, Tucker Wages and Carrie Hill; his triplet brother, Franklin McDivitt (Brenda) of Aniston, Ala.; and his brother-in-law, Charles Grantland of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his triplet sister, Eleanor Grantland and a brother, James Rayburn McDivitt.
Pallbearers will be Eric Garner, Perry Mason, Joe Beasley, Richard Vaughn, Rex Jones, Roger Raines, Michael Gable, and Kevin Lindley.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
