JAMES ROY MCCOMB

Tupelo - James Roy McComb, 79, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. A Saltillo native, and lifelong resident of Tupelo, he was born May 1, 1927 to the late Robert Edward and Birdie Mae Hatley McComb. He worked 44 years at MTD, retiring in 2006. He was a mason and member of the Shriner's Fire Brigade. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the cooking channel daily. His pride and joy was his grandson, Blair.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. John Hill officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include son, Jim Hill of New Orleans, La; a grandson, Blair Hill of Tupelo; two granddaughters, Ashley and Morgan Hill of Connecticut; a sister, Emma Faye Fountain and a brother, John Allen McComb of Biloxi; a very special daughter-in-law and care giver, Joney Holley of Tupelo; special friends, James Bailey and Don Paquette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janelle Patey McComb; an infant son, James David McComb; two sisters, Sallie Bessie Sample and Ethyl Mae Towery.

Pallbearers will be Don Paquette, Mark Vavruska, Jim Pogue, James Bailey, Gene Autrey Turner, and Hunt Kirk.

Honorary Pallbearers will be all employees of MTD.
