JAMES F. "JIM" KRUMCKE

Tupelo - JAMES F. "JIM" KRUMCKE, 85, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Holly Springs native, he was born December 15, 1921 to the late Claude Monroe and Curtis Black Krumcke. He grew up in Oxford and graduated from University High School. He then attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College. He enlisted in the Air Force December 28, 1941 and was sent to the Southwest Pacific for 34 months. He was recalled to active duty with the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a long time employee of Chevron Oil and retired from Mississippi Sate Tax Commission. He was a member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. at Oxford Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Gloria Wood Krumcke of Tupelo; one daughter, Terri Taylor and husband, Charlie, of Mooreville; one son, Bruce Krumcke and wife, Kelli of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Chris McNeece and wife, Sarah, of Seattle, Wash., Carrie Riley and husband, Scott, of Saltillo, Clay Krumcke, Bryce Krumcke, Abby Williams and husband, Paul, all of Tupelo; five great-grandchildren, Drew, Colby, and Caden Riley, and Madelyn and Owen Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Gloria Jean Krumcke.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Crockett, Tony Mason, Louis Aldridge, Bill Spencer, Jimmy Killough, and Howard Davenport.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
