JIMMY HUNT
Tupelo ? James B. Hunt, ?Jimmy?, 76, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 28, 2013, after an extended illness. He was born in Mooreville, MS, December 18, 1936, to Bluford and Louise Estes Hunt. He graduated from Mooreville High school and attended Itawamba Junior College. He served in the Army during the Berlin Crisis. Jimmy retired from Martha White and General Mills as a salesman. He was the past president of the Tupelo Jaycee. Jimmy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Adult 4 Men?s Sunday school class. He enjoyed crappie fishing and having an annual fish fry for his Sunday school class, vegetable gardening, cooking and spending time with his family.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. David Eldridge officiating. Burial will be at Itawamba Memorial Gardens in Fulton. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jan McKee Hunt; son, Jamey Hunt (Leslie) of Biloxi; daughter, Leigh Ann Billingsley (James) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Carter and Sam Hunt of Biloxi and Avery, Matt and Molly Billingsley of Tupelo; sisters, Joyce Cox, Janice Conniff both of Oneonta, Alabama; brothers, Bobby Hunt (Shirley) of Columbus, Wayne Hunt of Tupelo and Lamar Hunt (Janice) of Jackson, Tennessee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Katie Pate of Fulton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jerry Hunt and a brother-in-law, Billy Cox.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult 4 Men?s Sunday school class and the West Main Hardees?s afternoon coffee drinkers.
Visitation will be 4 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
