JIM MCCULLOUGH
Saltillo - James Reed "Jim McCullough, 84, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Lee Co. native, he was born March 25, 1922 to the late Lonnie Clelon and Beatrice West McCullough. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was married to Ethel Doyle McCullough who preceded him in death August 10, 1999. He had lived in Jackson for 30 years where he had worked for Knox Glass Company before moving back to the Shannon area in 1970, and then to Saltillo in 2004. He was retired from Aircap Industries where he had worked from 1970-1992. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, spending time with his friends at the Saltillo Senior Citizens Center, and his family. He was a member of Old Union Baptist Church.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2006 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery.
Survivors include a step-son, Paul Doyle of Munford, Tenn.; one sister, Katie Curry of the Palmetto Community; his step-mother, Emma Pearl McCullough of Palmetto; eight nieces and nephews, Mary Wren of Tupelo, Jean Miller of Saltillo, L.C. McCullough of Mantee, James "Jimmy" McCullough of Blue Springs, Lonnie "Rusty" Curry of Palmetto, Carla Potts of Kenton, Tenn., Perry Curry of Palmetto and Aubrey Curry of Iuka; and three step-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a brother, Numie Lee McCullough.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy McCullough, L.C. McCullough, Rusty Curry, Perry Curry, Aubrey Curry, and Ronnie Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rickey Wren, David McCullough, Lany McCullough, Logan McCullough, Shane Rodgers, Blake Curry, Justin Curry, Michael Sudduth, Charlie Potts, and Brennan Bell.
Visitation will begin 11 a.m. Thursday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
