James T. "Jim" Ewing, Sr.

JAMES T. JIM EWING, Sr.

Tupelo " James T. Jim Ewing, Sr. 74, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at The North Mississippi Medical Center. A Lee County native and long time Tupelo resident, he was born August 17, 1932 to the late Tillman and Dessie Grant Ewing. He was the owner of several businesses, Ewing Gas Company, Ewing Mobile Homes and Jim Ewing Auto Sales. He was also a partner in East Heights Finance and the All American Motel.. He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed spending time with his motorcycle friends, fishing and boating. He was a member of Tupelo Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Elder Mike Drewery officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Lee Ewing; two sons, Jimmy Ewing and wife, Becky of Tupelo and Cary Ewing and wife, Tammy, of Tupelo; one daughter, Lynn Moore and husband, Bryan of Rocky Mount, NC; one step-son, Mike Campbell and wife, Kim, of Tupelo; one step-daughter, Cathy Ginn and husband, Mike, of Shannon; seven grandchildren, Jamie Ewing and wife, Missy,of Tupelo, Claire Ewing of Jackson, Greg Moore and Jeff Moore, both of Raleigh, NC, Andrew Ginn and Laura Ginn, both of Shannon, and Tyler Campbell of Tupelo; one sister, Peggy Crump and husband, Lester, of Tupelo; a brother-in-law, Harold Livingston of Tupelo.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Livingston.

Pallbearers will be Mitch Burleson, Donnie Butler, Ken Winter, Russ Harrington, Tim Rogers, and H.C. Payne.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Reese Senter, Lee Duncan, Sr., and T.C. McDaniel.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
