James Homan

JAMES ZEKE HOMAN

Oxford - James E. Homan, 64, died Friday, January 25, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford after a lengthy illness. A Tupelo native, he was born June 21, 1943 to the late B. W. and Mae Davis Homan. He lived in Tupelo most of his life, moved to the Gulf Coast in 1995 and remained there until retiring to Oxford in 2005. While living on the Gulf Coast he worked with Gulf Coast Pre-Stress in Pass Christian.. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and watching football. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, and the best "Paw Paw" in the whole world.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Chaplin Steve Edmonds officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Jean Homan of Oxford; two daughters, Kim Doty and her husband, Ruben, of Tupelo, Kristi Buskirk and her husband, Bill, of New Albany; one son, James "Chip" Homan of Oxford; Angie Maupin and Lisa Watts who have always been like daughters to him; one sister, Evelyn Duncan of Tupelo, one brother, B. W. "Bubba" Homan and his wife, Carolyn of Tupelo; a sister-in-law, Glenda Dacus and her husband, Bob, of Sikeston, Missouri; a Brother-in-law, Buddy Poole and his wife, Billie Faye, of Hamilton; two grandchildren,his pride and joy, Ali and Emma Buskirk of New Albany; and numerous very special nieces and nephews..

He was preceded in death by his parents, B. W. and Mae Davis Homan; three sisters, Jo Calloway, Louise Kirk, and Clytee Benson; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Boyd and Bobbie Cruse; two nephews, Jeff Homan, and Bob Duncan; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Essie Poole .

Pallbearers will be Taylor Cruse, Sam Cruse, Tripp Dacus, Jeff Dacus, Pete Harrelson, and Pete Poole.
