James Hanson

JAMES E. HANSON Tupelo-James E. Hanson, 75, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015, in Marietta, Georgia, after an extended illness. He was born February 5, 1940, in Fort Wayne Indiana to Albert and Ruth Mart Hanson. Jim graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne IN. After 32 years, he retired with Acosta Sales and Marketing Company. He served his country for eight years in the United States Marine Corps with the 9th Rifle Company in Fort Wayne, IN. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo. He loved his family dearly and cherished his time spent with them. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at The Jefferson Street Chapel with Father Lincoln Dall officiating. A graveside will follow at Auburn Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his daughter, Kelly Johnson of Marietta, GA; three step-daughters, Tammy Edens (Greg) of Jacksonville, FL, Beth Easton (Mark) of Pensacola, FL Marion Cook (Paul) of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Phyllis Galloway (Dick) Fort Wayne, IN; twelve grandchildren, Chad Miller, Jeremiah Hanson (Ashley), Ben Hanson, Amanda Edens, Emily Edens, Cassie Edens, Lauren Easton, Madison Easton, Riley Easton, Katie Cook, Caleb Cook, and Abby Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandra Hanson and one son Michael Hanson. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Thursday, April 9, 2015, W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 3343 Peachtree Road.
