Tupelo - James Carroll "Jim Foster, 65, formerly of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Friday, May 19, 2006, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A native of Arkansas, he was born August 12, 1940 to the late William H. and Rachel Jordan Foster. He was a 1968 graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy. He worked at Sparks Hospital and Gunn-Watts Drugs in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He then worked for Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals in Oklahoma City for 27 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his granddaughter. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

A Memorial Service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at the Sanctuary Hospice House Chapel with Rev. Randy Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery at a later date. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Candy McCrory and her husband Robbie of Tremont; one son, David Foster of Kansas City, MO; one granddaughter, Ashley McCrory of Tremont; one brother, Bill Foster and his wife Karen of Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Lila Elaine Foster; and his parents.
