Mantachie - James H."Jim" Clouse, 80, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. He was born January 10, 1928 in Tremont to the late Daniel and Tera Mae Leslie Clouse. While living most of his life in Itawamba County, he had also lived in Waukeegan, IL and in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He worked for Pennsylvania Tire Co. for 15 years, and later for Apac, retiring after ten years. He married Alice Clouse January 13, 1978. He enjoyed fishing, deer and racoon hunting and loved his old truck. He will be remembered for his lively sense of humor.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Dalton Brown and Rev. Danny Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Alice Clouse of Mantachie; two step-daughters, Carol Clarke and husband, Jeffery Alen, of San Antonio, Tex. and Tammie Sansone of Milford, Del.; one brother, Bogan Clouse and wife, Loraine, of Mantachie; one sister, Lizzie Mae Clouse of Peppertown; three step-grandsons, Shane Honan serving in Iraq, and wife, Catherine of Ft. Riley, Ks., Cory Burrington and Zackery Hann, both of Milford, Del.; and one great-grandson, Lucas Honan.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Junior Clouse; two step-grandsons, Eric Sansone and Steven Stefan; and a step-granddaughter, Megan Burrington.
Pallbearers will be Jerry McGath, Terry Duckworth, Richard Clouse, Bill Fritz, Rodney Turner, and David Clouse.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
