BUDDY PETERS Plantersville - James H. "Buddy" Peters, 81, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Countrywood Plantation in Mantachie after an extended illness. A native of Lee County and longtime residence of Plantersville, he was born March 14, 1932, to Carroll Lee and Virginia Jamison Peters. A veteran of the United States Army, he served his country during the Korean War Conflict. He retired from Tombigbee Electric Power Association, after 38 years of service. Travelling, working in his garden and spending time with his family were things he loved the most. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Plantersville. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Danny Balint officiating. Burial will be in Plantersville Cemetery Survivors include one son, Hilton Peters (Dana) of Plantersville; two sisters, Beatrice Parker of Nettleton and Lerah Edwards (Lawrence) of Guntown; four brothers, D. C. Peters, Clyde Peters, Mack Peters (Betty) all of Plantersville and Terry Peters, (LaRue) of Tupelo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 45 years, Betty Sue Peters. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Plantersville First Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
