James "Ray" Altom

JAMES "RAY" ALTOM Chesterville - James Ray Altom, 55, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, at  Sanctuary Hospice House. A lifelong resident of Lee County, he was born July 10, 1960, to Jimmie H. and Pauline Hayes Altom. Ray attended Belden High School and worked for Independent Furniture Supply. He enjoyed to play pool and enjoyed life with family and friends. Ray loved to play dominos with his friends at the VFW. He was a member of Bissell Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Kim Shaw (Shane) of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Chase, Cody and Chloe Shaw of the home; sister, Christy Jaggers (Jason) of Mooreville; brothers, Hayes Altom of Chesterville, Mike Altom (Rhonda) of Chesterville and Paul McCain (Angie) of Saltillo and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra K. Altom. Visitation will be 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2016, at W. E.
