Mooreville Jake Jakie Kelley,Jr., 70, died Thursday, August 12, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. A Savannah, Tennessee native, he was born March 21, 1940 to Jake and Daisy Bell Hatley Kelley. He had recently moved to East Tupelo but had lived the last 10 years prior in Mooreville and previous to that he lived about 13 years in Skyline. He was a retired mechanic who enjoyed building and repairing small engines. He was a Baptist. He loved flea markets and his truck.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Jimmy Henry officiating. Burial will be in Boguefala Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Louise Kelley; his grandson, Jacob Wheat of the home; 6 children, Jakie D. Kelley (Rhonda) of Mooreville, Joe David Kelley of Tupelo, Bobby Lane Kelley (Nicki) of the Evergreen Community, Mark Kelley (Nancy) of Saltillo, Regina Foster (Stephen)of Baldwyn and Angela Kelley (Eric) of Mooreville; three sisters, Katie Young (Neal) of Pontotoc, Jonie Love of Savannah, Tennessee and Daisy "Blue Eyes" Plunk of Adamsville, Tennessee; 11 other grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a special friend, David Lindell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, Essie, Onie, Marie and Betty; two brothers, George and Hugh.

Pallbearers will be Jakie D. Kelley, Joe David Kelley, Bobby Lane Kelley, Mark Kelley, Jacob Wheat and Eric Hall.

Visitation will be 3 - 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
