JACKIE R. HOPKINS Tupelo - Jackie R. Hopkins, 62, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. Jackie was born in Red Bay, Alabama, on August 12, 1951, to Narvis D. and Florence Brock Hopkins. He served as shipping and receiving clerk for the Super Sagless of Tupelo for 38 years with an impressive perfect attendance. Pressure washing and shooting pool with his friends were a few of his favorite hobbies. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy. A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery. Survivors include two children, Alisha Bryant (Andy) of Mooreville and Wesley Hopkins (Joan) of Amory; his companion, Pam Hester of Tupelo; brother-in-law, Herman Lansdell (Debbie) of Tupelo; extended family, Michael Hester (Monica) and their daughter Peyton Kinley, Jonathan Glass of Mooreville and John Paul Glass and his daughters, Leigha and Hanna all of Mooreville; grandchildren, Chapman Bryant and Anna Brooke Bryant both of Mooreville, Summer Clark, Hayden Harris, Bradley Pannell, Randy Pannell(Heather) and their son, Ryan Pannell, Christie McKay (Chris) and their children, Savannah McKay and Christian McKay and Rusty Pannell (Kate) and their son, David Pannell all of Amory. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sue Ann Lansdell. Pallbearers will be Chapman Bryant, Michael Hester, Dennis Hutcherson, Ray Miller and his nephews, Mike and Kevin Lansdell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Mann, Judy Shields, Jerry Harris, Steve Lansdell, all his pool shooting friends including the late David Duncan. The family will receive friends 5 - 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House and the Eggville Cemetery Fund.
