Mantachie—Jacqueline Denise “Jackie” Derreberry passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 56 years old. Jackie was born July 3, 1967 in Pensacola, Florida, the daughter of Jack Bedale Derreberry and Geraldine Walker Good. She lived in many places during her lifetime, settling in Mantachie in 1995. Even through her illness, Jackie will be remembered as a force to be reckoned with, proving her strength time and time again. She loved going to Camp Bluebird participating in the various opportunities offered there and sharing life experiences with other campers. Jackie was a free spirit who sought to gain everything she could from the hand she had been dealt. Whether singing karaoke or playing a serious round of quarters, she could be heard laughing and having fun. She also enjoyed reading, board games and watching a good wrestling match. Her family will miss her greatly.
Jackie leaves behind her step-father, Jerry Good of Mantachie; three children, Mark “Booter” Derreberry and his wife, Katherine, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Nicollette A. Manscoe and her husband, Zackery and Shiann Desiree Johnson of Tupelo; 11 grandchildren; six sisters and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Derreberry; her mother, Geraldine Good; and a brother, Charles Derreberry.
Visitation will be 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Pegues, Tupelo.
