Jack Craig Leslie passed away on Saturday, Nov 2 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born on September 20, 1958 in Tupelo to the late Jack and Ludine. His wonderful journey with his wife, Susan, began over 40 years ago. Throughout his life, Jack worked at Pegues Funeral Home and owned Leslie’s Short Stop in Mooreville, where he met many great friends. Jack was one of those men who couldn’t help but make friends with everyone. He had a way of talking to people that made them feel at home, comforted, and appreciated.
Also known as Papa Jack, he had a limitless amount of love for his family, and was adored by all who had the pleasure to know him. He was truly a man filled with overflowing kindness and compassion for all of those in his life. Music was his language, and he was able to share his love for music by playing guitar with his grandson and friends. Lynyrd Skynyrd was one of his forever favorites, and over the course of his life, he played in several bands sharing his musical talent and putting smiles on faces. Jack enjoyed watching football, especially in support of his alma mater, Ole Miss! Jack also loved watching his favorite show, The Sopranos, and he was always ready to pass along and hear new tv recommendations.
Jack is survived by his wife, Susan, three sons and two daughters: Russell, Sue Ane, Tyler, Alex, Samantha, six grandchildren, Koby, Ella, Abby, Hunt, Christopher, and Hannah, two brothers, Jeff (Diava), and Dubs (Pattie), and two beloved dogs, Max and Lucy.
