Tupelo- Jack Alton Carter Kemp, 73, died Sunday, August 31, 2008, at The Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born April 5, 1935 in Phoenix City, Alabama to Henry C. and Sarah Elizabeth Hudson Kemp. He was a thirty year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He lived in the Tupelo area for the last 12 years. He collected eagles.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Eileen Kemp, of Tupelo; one son, Jack Alton Carter Kemp, Jr. of Coeur dAlene, Idaho; three step-daughters, Carla Finefrock of Locust Grove, Virginia and Corine Stamper of Troutdale, Oregan and Linda Scott of Esterville, Iowa; one step-son, Fred Connor of Sandusky, Ohio; two sisters and three brothers, all of Georgia; numerous grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
