Tupelo - HENRY JACK ELLIS, 76, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at his residence after an extended illness. A Shannon native, he was born March 15, 1931 to the late Henry and Mayme Lee Long Ellis. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He and his wife Kathryn, were longtime partners and owners of Ellis Upholstery. He was a well-known personality who committed his time to the Shriners and was a 32 degree Mason. He was an avid fisherman and a HAAM radio enthusiast.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Mr. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Kathryn Ellis of Tupelo;a sister, Joann Hood of Brewer, three daughters, Gay McCaskill (Eddie)of Athens, Ga., Kathy Parrett (Mike) of Venice, Fla., and Jackie Hanna of Tupelo; one son, Tommy Morris of Blue Mountain; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three nieces.
Pallbearers will be Eddie McCaskill, Seth McCaskill, Danny Brewington, Drew Parrett, James Parrett, Bob Shumpert, Ike Robuck, and Lee Kelly
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ted Woods, John Wade and Eddie West.
Visitation will continue Thursday until service time at the funeral home.
