J.C. (JAKE) BAILEY
Tupelo - J.C. "Jake" Bailey, 68, died Sunday, December 30, 2007, at his residence after an extended illness. A Marietta native, he was born April 3, 1939 to the late Joseph and Zera Fleming Bailey. He worked as a body repairman for George Ruff Buick and also for AAA Body and glass before being disabled. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing cards and dominoes. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Robert Garland and Rev. Harold Adair officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda McCarley Bailey of Tupelo; two sons, Ray Bailey and wife, Jenny, of Shannon and Mark Bailey of Tupelo; one daughter, Teresa Davis and husband, Jessie, of Mantachie; four sisters, Hazel Steele and husband, David, of Tupelo; Earnistine White and husband, Bobby, of Booneville, Brenda Little and husband, Randy, and Faye Foster and husband, Tony, all of Tupelo; a special friend, Jeff Rayburn of Auburn; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janice Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Gable, J.D. Rodgers, Terry Carlock, Billy Farris, Michael Kirby, Anthony Parker and Jessie Davis and his grandsons, Jacob Bailey and Justin Richardson.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
