IRENE BYRD Tupelo - Irene Warren Byrd, 91, died Monday, March 25, 2013, at Emeritus Assisted Living Facility in Woodstock, Georgia, after an extended ilness. She was born April 6, 1921, in Golden to Issac Monan and Gertrude Davis Black. Her hobbies included, sewing, cooking and working in her flower garden. She was a faithful and loved member of Tupelo Free Will Baptist Church, and attended the Grace Women's Sunday School Class. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, with Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery in Tishomingo County. Survivors include one son, Jerry Warren (Connie) of Woodstock, Georgia; one step-son, Jimmy Byrd (Wreda) of Tupelo; one step-daughter-in-law, Pat Byrd of Mantachie; two sisters, Osene Harwell of Palestine, Texas and Jo Ann Harris (Eron) of Collierville, Tennessee; one brother, Douglas Black (Vora) of Memphis, Tenessee; two grandchildren, Keith Warren (Marion) of Macon, Georgia and Jeffrey Warren (Kellie) of Scranton, South Carolina; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jack Warren in October 1993 and Delmer Byrd in October 2012; one sister, Othelia Sartin ; one step-son, Jackie Byrd. Pallbearers will be Bob Birmingham, Russell Clouse, David Mills, Bob Tubb, James Webb, Bobby Gilmore, Danny Caldwell and Mark Huddleston. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, and continued one hour prior to service time Wednesday.
