Tupelo - Ilene Holley Burrough, 80, died Monday, October 12, 2009, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. A native of Randolph, she was born January 25, 1929, to Walter and Pauline Flaherty. She worked in the garment industry as a seamstress for several years. She was the widow of Hubert Holley who preceded her in death July 20, 1988. She later married Earl Burrough who died Dec. 6, 1999. She was a longtime faithful member of Belden Baptist Church where she was active in the senior adult ministry and enjoyed her Sunday School Class, her Wednesday morning prayer meeting, (quilting club) as well as taking trips with her church friends. She loved her children and grandchildren and was known for her quick wit and sense of humor.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Don Baggett and Bro. Jim Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Doty Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Grammer (Johnny) of Fulton; two sons, Larry Holley (Shelia) of Baton Rouge, La. and Phillip Holley (Sonia) of Fulton; two sisters, Bess Dodson of Shannon and Sarah Britt of Pontotoc; one brother, Dee Flaherty of Pontotoc; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; a daughter, Polly Zinn; and a grandson, Heath Holley.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Darrel Zinn, David Zinn, Chad Holley, Michael Holley, Josh Holley, Dusty Grammer, Jason Grammer, and her nephew, Robert Dodson.
Visitation will be 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
