HUGH CURRY

Tupelo - H.M. "Hugh" Curry, 89, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at the North Miss. Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 29, 1916, in Webster County to the late Jim Tom and Fannie Lou Curry. He was retired from South Central Bell and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Tim Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include one daughter, Theresa Wheeler and husband, Flynn A. Wheeler, of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Micah Gory and Paige Gory, both of Tupelo, and Nicole Gory of Orlando, Fla.; one niece, Dorothy Malone of Starkville; two nephews, James Estes Curry of New Albany and Ruben Walker of Eupora.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Johnnie D. Curry; a brother, Gayso Curry; and a sister, Edna Walker.

Pallbearers will be Herman Lansdell, Tom Swindle, Ruben Walker, Jim Curry, James Curry and Dennis Carr.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
