Hoyle Bedford

August 18, 1925 — December 14, 2008

Tupelo - Hoyle William Bedford, 83, died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at The Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks after a short illness. An Itawamba County native, he was born August 18, 1925 to Ernest Clyde and Ola Mae Hipps Bedford. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from Daybrite Industries where he served 32 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, yard work, gardening, working on small engines and spending time with his family. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Frank Cayson and Rev. Roy Shew officiating. Burial will be in Beech Springs Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Pauline Bedford of Tupelo; one daughter, Linda B. Lundy and husband, Tom, of Chattanooga, Tenn; one son, Jimmy Bedford and wife, Ellie, of Tupelo; one sister, Dot Mason and husband, John Allen, of Tupelo; two brothers, Leroy Bedford and wife, Sue, of Tupelo and G.W. Bedford and wife, Tommie, of Perry, Ga.; two grandchildren, Nathan Bedford and wife, Carrie, of Plantersville and Amanda L. Mutz and husband, Tom, of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Ava Rost Mutz and Owen Bedford Mutz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl Bedford and Ernest Bedford.

Pallbearers will be Hoyt Richey, Roy Mann, Roy White, Jimmy Beasley, Darrell Brumley, and Roy Shew.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
