HOWARD PARKER Euclatubba - Howard L. Parker, 78, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at The North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born in Itawamba County on March 6, 1935, to Kern and Grace Russell Parker. After graduating from Shannon High School, he joined the United States Navy where he served in the Korean War Conflict. For many years, he was an employee of Pennsylvania Tire Company in Tupelo and retired from Tupelo Manufacturing Products as a machine operator. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved fishing and keeping himself busy doing and fixing things for his family. He was a member of Euclatubba Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in Euclatubba Cemetery with military honors. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sallie Ellis Parker of Euclatubba Community; three daughters, Monda Lee (Mark) of Saltillo, Janet Lee Davis (Pete) of Hattiesburg and Melinda Evans (Mike) of Amory; two sons, Stephen Parker (Teresa) of Tupelo and Wayne Parker (Tina) of Saltillo; one sister, Nell Swinney of Guntown; one brother, Charles Parker of Tupelo; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob Parker and Terry Parker; one grandson, Brady Parker Evans. Pallbearers will be Steve Parker, Wayne Parker, Kyle Parker, Dustin Cagle, Craig Lee and Mike Evans. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 2605 W Main St, Tupelo, MS 38801.
