HOWARD B. DAVENPORT
Tupelo, Miss. - HOWARD B. DAVENPORT "Mr. D.", 75, formerly of Milwaukee, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, at his residence in Tupelo, Miss. An Oakland, Iowa native, he was born June 1, 1932 to the late Ralph and Bertha Bird Davenport. He served in the Army National Guard of Iowa from 1948 to 1952 achieving the rank of Corporal. He was a 1955 graduate of Northwest Missouri State College where he earned a BS in Education. In 1959, he received his Masters degree from Colorado State, College of Education. He taught at Pulaski High School in Milwaukee, Wisc. from 1957 to 1993. He enjoyed boating, camping, and RVing. He was a member of the South Shore Yacht Club and a Master Mason of the Kilbourn Lodge #3 in Milwaukee.
A Memorial Service was held at W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Dean Moody officiating.
Survivors include his loving wife of three years, Joy K. Davenport; three children, Dayton B. Davenport and wife, JoAnn, Dr. DeeAnn L. Davenport and husband, Michael Heibel, and Darth B. Davenport and wife, Michelle; three grandchildren, Andrea McGhee and husband, Dan, Amy Davenport, Deven Heibel, and Luke Davenport; and two great-grandchidlren, Julia McGhee and Matthew McGhee.
