Saltillo - Homer Jackson, 68, passed Thursday, July 2, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Unit after an extended illness. He was born February 22, 1947 to J. C. and Mamie Dunaway Jackson in Baldwyn, Mississippi. He worked at Lee County Solid Waste as a truck driver and retired after 26 years. Homer loved working in his garden as often as he could. He also enjoyed attended church at Furrs Tabernacle Church where he was a member. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with officiating. Burial will be in Campbelltown Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Estelle Jackson; one son, Kenneth Jackson; two brothers, Jeff Jackson (Berneice) and Jimmy Jackson (Jeanie) all of Saltillo; one sister-in-law, Dean Jackson of Union County. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Betty Anderson and one brother Johnny Jackson. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
