HERSHEL STANFORD

Tupleo - James Hershel Stanford, 80, died Friday, August 18, 2006, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. A Tupelo native, he was born June 23, 1926 to the late Edd and Gertrude Sanders Stanford. He was Church of Christ. He was a WWII Army veteran and a retired carpenter of thirty- seven years.

Services will be 2 pm Sunday, August 20, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Robert Kingsley and Rev Terry Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include His wife of 5 years Lanette Brassfield Stanford of Blue Springs; one daughter Patty Burt and husband Bill of Ft. Myers, FL; one son Sammy Stanford and wife Faye of Byhalia; one step-daughter Deborah Stephens and Husband Mike of Baldwyn; five grandchildren Michelle Surratte and husband Chuck of Olive Branch, Terry Stanford and wife Michelle of Olive Branch, Kevin Stanford of Memphis, Wesley Kelly of Fort Myers, Bubba Kelly of Southaven: one step grandson Chris Pannell and wife Tasha of Mantachie; six great grandchildren Tara and Kayla Surratte, Griffin, Max, Savannah, Mallory Stanford: one step great grandson Conner Pannell; two sisters Earlene Bradley and husband Clyde, Martha Brock and husband J. R. both of Auburn; one brother Kenneth Stanford and wife Esteen of Blue Springs.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children Margaret Payne Stanford.

Pallbearers will be Terry, Kevin and Ken Stanford, Bubba Kelly, Phillip and Doyle Bradley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Wesley and Rodney Kelly.
