Henry R. Rowe

October 9, 1923 — July 5, 2018

Henry Ruble Rowe, 94, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born in the Pontocola Community, October 9, 1923, to Lee Henry and Cordy Elizabeth Mann Rowe.  Henry proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army during World War II. Before and after his military service, he worked as a share cropper. In 1956, he relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he worked as a press operator for Benjamin Electric. He loved reading his bible daily and he also enjoyed jogging and walking, hula hooping, talking on his CB radio and mowing lawns. For 17 years, he was a member of Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church and for the last 13 years, he attended Grace Tabernacle in Baldwyn with his son and daughter-in-law.



Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Harlow and her husband, Ronnie of Nettleton, Patricia Prather and her husband, Ronnie of Guntown and Dottie Bonds and husband, Danny of Corinth; three sons, James Rowe and his wife, Tarica of Nettleton, Bobby Rowe and his wife, Janice of Ozark, Arkansas and Gary Rowe and his wife, Sherry of Baldwyn; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Wayne Chambers of Pontotoc and Lib Kidd and her husband, Earl of Shannon.



He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Mae Baswell Rowe; one daughter, Doris Rowe;  four brothers; and five sisters.



Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church.



Services with Military Honors will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Cedar Grove United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Danny Robbins, Rev. Braxton Rutland and Rev. Larry Hill officiating. Burial will be in Campbelltown Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.



Pallbearers will be Mike Harlow, Allen Harlow, Craig Harlow, Corey Stinson, Josh Hardin, Jonathan Prather, Aaron Walters and Jeff Allred.



Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Wayne Deloach, David Deloach, Rodney Rowe, Patrick Posey, Roy Baswell and Bobby Baswell.
