Tupelo- Henry Miller Lamb died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center at age 86.

He was born in Lucedale, Mississippi on May 27, 1932. He was the son of Ellis R. Lamb, Sr. and Nellie Woodall Lamb. After graduating from Lucedale High School Henry entered the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He later on attended Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee which led him to Mobile, Alabama, Jackson, Mississippi and Greenville, Mississippi.  In 1966, he opened Tupelo Diesel and in 1977 Columbus Diesel.

Henry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo since 1966 and served as a greeter and usher.  He was also a member of Tupelo’s Lions Club since 1974, serving in many cities, states and national committees, District Governor, Council Chairman and board member of Mid-South Lions in Memphis, Tennessee.  Henry received many Lions Club Awards including Melvin Jones Award, Mid-South Lions Sight Service Hall of Honors and he was inducted in Mississippi Lions Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Massey Lamb of 60 years of Tupelo; son, Mike Lamb and his wife, Lesia of Tupelo; daughter, Vicki Gaither and her husband, Keith of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Drew Lamb and his wife, Ashley, Morgan Lamb,  Audrey Gaither; step-grandchildren, Blair Curtis and her husband, Ben and Bo Ferguson; great-grandson, Hayden Lamb; step-great-grandchildren, Tyson Anglin, Mary Bishop Curtis, Livingston Curtis and Hewitt Curtis; three sisters, Ruth Eckhoff, Nina Moodie and her husband, Roland and Nell Haeussler; and twenty nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis R. Lamb, Sr.; brothers, Ellis R. Lamb, Jr. and Floyd Lamb.

Services honoring his life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Chris DeGeorge officiating. Private family graveside services will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Pallbearers will be Drew Lamb, Terry Chunn, Balford Patterson, Cody Morris, Brandon Sims and Don Kenney.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tupelo Lions Club, Calvary Baptist Church greeters and ushers and Henry’s Adult Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to Lions of Mississippi, 431 Katherine Drive, Flowood, MS 39232 and Calvary Baptist Church, 501 West Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38804.
