Saltillo - Helen Louise Wall, 86, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Home Place in Saltillo after an extended illness. She was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 9, 1923 to Thomas F. and Gertrude Dunning Jacobs. She grew up on the prairie in Colorado where her family homesteaded. She was an accomplished seamstress, and an avid quilt maker. She was a member of The First Church of the Nazarene in Topeka Kansas.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Topeka First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Warren Koker officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four sons, Stanley Nelson of Haleiwa, Hawaii, Sammy Wall of Topeka, Kansas, Don Wall (Marlene) of Redmond, Oregan, David Wall of Oxnard, California; four daughters, Kay Smith (Joe-Dan) of Saltillo, Debbie Miller (Mark) of Placentia, California, Marianne Borgen (Tom) of Bemidji, Minnesota, Ruth Hastings of Coos Bay, Oregan; two sisters Ann Jacobs of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mary Jacobs of Kanab, Utah; two brothers, Gene Jacobs (Marge) of Loveland, Colorado, Victor Jacobs, San Diego, California; 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Britton Wall; a son, Victor James Nelson; one sister, Thelma Peacock.
Visitation will be 5 - 9 Wednesday at the Saltillo Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the Church in Topeka Kansas.
