Helen Lanphere

Helen Louise Lanphere Saltillo- Helen Louise Langston Lanphere, 80, was taken by angels to her home to be with her loved ones, on Friday, October 17, 2014, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Helen was the only child of Thomas William and Vera Markham Langston, Helen was born in Lee County, November 1, 1933. She attended schools in Lee County. She married Donald Kenneth Lanphere in 1949. Helen had retired from Hunter-Saddler and became a homemaker. Helen was a Baptist by faith and attended Fellowship Baptist Church. She loved flowers, gardening, traveling, and visiting relatives and friends. Helen was very knowledgeable about family genealogy and family history. She was a co-author and collector of all data for the Lanphere's Genealogy. Survivors include sons, Kenneth Lanphere (Emogene) of Saltillo, Johnathan Lanphere (Sherry) of Saltillo. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; an infant son, Benjamin Carliss and her husband, Donald K. Lanphere. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Fellowship Cemetery in Saltillo. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church.
